Power Transmission & Generation Project Experience
SAM, Inc. has extensive experience with high-voltage electric transmission lines. We have provided surveying and mapping services to the electric utility industry since 1994. Some of our recent projects include:
260-Mile Electric Transmission Line LiDAR Surveys
As-built surveys of 260 miles of existing 138kV transmission. Provided project control, LiDAR acquisition, ground truthing, and processing of data for 12 existing 138kV transmission lines. Provided 0.5' pixel resolution digital orthophotography of a 3000' corridor along with plan and profile sheets in PLS-CADD file format to support upgrade of existing lines.

100-Mile Electric Transmission Line LiDAR Surveys
LiDAR acquisition and processing and As-Built surveys of 100 miles of existing 138kV transmission lines. Collected as-built features of existing transmission lines and provided plan and profile sheets in PLS-CADD file format to support upgrade of existing lines.

1,324 square mile high-altitude route study area on 138kV line. Aerial orthophotography at a 1"=2,500' photo scale, with 2 foot pixel resolution. 1'=3,000' LightJet Plots (48"x80") were delivered

26 Mile x 1,000' Corridor 138kV line. Engineering survey and aerial orthophotography at a 1"=2,000' photo scale.

2,930 square mile high-altitude route study area on 138kV line. Aerial orthophotography at a 1"=2,500' photo scale, with 2 foot pixel resolution. 1'=1,000' LightJet Plots (48"x80") were delivered

137 square mile high-altitude route study area on a 138kV line. Aerial orthophotography at a 1"=2,500' photo scale with 3 foot pixel resolution. 1'=1,000' LightJet Plots (48"x80") were delivered.

72 square mile high-altitude route study area on 138kV line. Aerial orthophotography at a 1"=3,333' photo scale with 2 foot pixel resolution. 1'=1,000' LightJet Plots (48"x80") were delivered.

Friend Ranch to Twin Buttes
2,166 square mile high-altitude aerial orthophotography at a photo scale of 1"=4,000'. Project was controlled using 7.5 minute USGS quadrangle maps. Created ortho index file in AutoCAD and produced 1"=800' scale LightJet plots, mounted and laminated.
