Education

We're committed to the future of our industry and believe in giving back by helping educate tomorrow's leaders.

SAM, Inc. is a strong advocate of higher education for surveying professionals and supports survey education programs across Texas through financial and equipment contributions.

Summer Internships
SAM, Inc. offers annual Summer Internships for qualified students enrolled in land surveying or survey related 4 year degree programs.

Summer Interns will find opportunities to gain experience in the surveying profession and to work with a highly qualified staff of professional surveyors, engineers, and photogrammetrists using state-of-the-art technology. Motivated students will work on a variety of land surveying projects such as boundary surveys, topographic/tree surveys, route surveys, GPS control surveys, terrestrial laser scanning, and mobile LiDAR.  Interns will also research deeds, process GPS data and terrestrial and mobile Laser Scan data, and use AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to do parcel mapping.  We also provide orientation in our aerial mapping and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) departments.

SAM Scholarship Program
The SAM Scholarship is eligible to motivated students pursuing either a two-year degree in surveying technology or four-year degree in surveying or closely related degree programs, such as Geomatics or surveying engineering, at a Texas based college or university. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, and complete an 8-week Summer Internship with SAM, Inc. the summer prior to scholarship award.
